In 2022 I was selecte to participate in the Starlight and Storm residency in Singla, Norway. Located at 69 degrees north, artist Hannah Viano and her husband Joe Talbert started this residency on a historic farmstead on Arnøya, a stunning island in the Arctic Circle. We spend a week in an exchange of ideas with visual artists, writers, and filmmakers. The residency focuses on direct experiences with nature, community, and creative discourse.

I attended with a script in development called Winter Harbor, a story about a man wintering over in a remote harbor on the northern BC coast in Canada circa 1904. This setting was more than perfect soil in in which that seedling of an idea could grow by leaps and bounds.
